Chauffeur Service FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions
This chauffeur service FAQ answers the frequently asked questions we hear about booking, pricing, airport transfers, and riding with Elite Coastal Rides. Can’t find what you’re looking for? Contact us and we’ll get back to you directly. We update this chauffeur service FAQ whenever our policies change, so the answers below reflect how we operate today.
How do I get a quote?
Enter your pickup and drop-off addresses on our site for an instant quote. Rates are flat and set in advance, so there’s no surge pricing and no surprises when the ride ends.
What areas do you serve?
We’re based in Port St. Lucie and serve St. Lucie, Martin, and Palm Beach counties. We’re also licensed to operate in Broward and Miami-Dade counties.
How do I pay?
A card on file is required for every booking, even if you plan to tip in cash. Corporate accounts can arrange net-10 invoicing; just let us know when booking.
What happens after I book an airport transfer?
It’s a simple four-step process. First, you book your quote online. Second, we monitor your flight status so we know your real arrival time, even if it changes. Third, you text us when you’re heading to arrivals. Fourth, your chauffeur meets you in the arrivals area and helps with your bags, no meeting at baggage claim or waiting curbside required.
Is there a grace period if my flight is delayed?
Yes. We include a 30-minute grace period for domestic flights, 60 minutes for international flights, and 15 minutes for non-airport pickups, measured from actual landing or arrival time.
What if I need more time after the grace period?
Additional wait time is billed at $100/hour in 30-minute increments once the grace period ends, with a $50 minimum and up to one additional hour billed. If we haven’t heard from you 90 minutes past the scheduled pickup time, the ride is treated as a no-show and the full fare applies.
How does hourly service work?
Hourly service is $100/hour with a 2-hour minimum, and includes 25 miles of driving per hour booked. Additional miles are $2/mile. It’s designed for trips within roughly a 10-mile radius, ideal for events, meetings, or a day with multiple stops. A card on file is required.
What vehicle will I ride in?
Elite Coastal Rides uses late-model luxury SUVs. Each vehicle is cleaned before every ride and seats up to 6 passengers, with complimentary phone chargers and premium still or sparkling water on board.
How much luggage can I bring?
Our vehicles accommodate up to 8 carry-on bags, or 6 standard suitcases, or 4 extra-large bags. Seating holds up to 6 passengers with the third-row seat up; folding it down for extra luggage space reduces capacity to 5 passengers. Let us know your group size and bag count when booking so we can plan accordingly.
What’s your cancellation policy?
Cancel 24 hours or more before your ride for a full refund. Inside 24 hours, refunds are at our discretion and are often issued as credit toward a future ride. Airport rides canceled within 2 hours of pickup, and other rides canceled within 1 hour of pickup, are charged the full fare.
Do you offer cruise port transfers?
Yes. We provide flat-rate transfers to Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale and Port Miami from anywhere on the Treasure Coast. Share your ship name and sailing time, and we will plan your pickup around boarding.
Can you take me to the Brightline or Amtrak station?
Yes. We serve both the Brightline and Amtrak stations in West Palm Beach, with schedule tracking so your chauffeur is ready when your train arrives.
Do you pick up private flights at Witham Field?
Yes. For private and charter flights at Witham Field (SUA) in Stuart, we coordinate ramp-side pickup with you or your FBO, timed to your actual arrival.
Is there a fee for late-night or early-morning pickups?
Yes. Pickups between 10pm and 6am carry a flat $25 after-hours fee, added to your quoted fare. It’s a fixed amount, not a demand-based surge charge, and it’s always included in the price you’re quoted before you book.
How is Elite Coastal Rides different from Uber or Lyft?
We’re a chauffeur company, not a rideshare service. That means a professional chauffeur, a consistent well-maintained vehicle, flat rates with no surge pricing, and none of the driver variability that comes with rideshare apps. We compete on professionalism and hospitality, not on being the cheapest option on the road.
Do you work with Blacklane?
Yes. Elite Coastal Rides is affiliated with Blacklane, a global professional chauffeur network, which reflects the same standard of service we hold ourselves to on every ride.
Is gratuity included in the price?
No, gratuity is not included in the fare. Tipping is always appreciated but left entirely to your discretion.
Do you provide car seats for children?
We don’t provide child safety seats. Florida law requires a car or booster seat for children under 8 years old or under 4’9″ tall, so please bring your own for your child’s safety and to stay compliant with state law.
Can passengers drink alcohol in the vehicle?
Open containers of alcohol are not permitted in the vehicle at any time.
I left something in the vehicle. What do I do?
Contact us as soon as you notice, and we’ll help locate your item and arrange its return. A $75 return fee applies to cover the trip back to you.
Are your vehicles recorded?
Yes. Our vehicles are equipped with dash cams that record both video and audio for the safety of our passengers and chauffeurs. Using our service means you consent to this recording.
What amenities are included with my ride?
Every Elite Coastal Rides booking includes complimentary phone chargers and a choice of premium still or sparkling water, no request needed. Just let your chauffeur know if you have a preference.
Do you offer stretch limos or party buses?
Elite Coastal Rides does not operate stretch limos or party buses ourselves. For a stretch limo or party bus in the area, we recommend Affordable Luxury Limousine. We are not affiliated with them, but we’re happy to point our guests their way for these types of requests.
